A SHORT GUIDE TO YOUR WORKSPACE

From an idea
to a clearer plan.

Choose a starter layout, edit it, explore it, then keep the version you like. RoofNurture helps prepare a concept to discuss with your builder or design team.

Decorate and render your concept

Select a room, then choose Decorate & materials, or use Decorate this room inside Walkthrough. Apply the Dark Timber, Modern stone, Coastal oak or Warm minimal shortcut to one room or the current floor. Edit floor, wall and ceiling materials; choose an accent wall, trim color, texture repeat size and roughness. Lower roughness gives a glossier finish. Save finishes to see the result in the live walkthrough. Undo restores earlier choices.

In Decor & art, place and edit rugs, plants, floor lamps and framed concept images. Widths, heights and positions use feet. Board offsets run along the chosen wall; boards must fit a solid wall area clear of doors and windows. Rugs can sit below furniture. Plants and lamps block movement, so review placement and access in Walkthrough.

In Concept images, choose a supplied estate illustration or upload PNG, JPEG or WebP up to 15 MB. Uploads are resized to at most 1,024 pixels on their longest side and stored on this device, with a limit of 20 custom images. Use the image beside the live model, place it as a framed board, or use a cropped sample as a surface texture. The uploaded picture does not automatically reconstruct its architecture. Use AI decorating to interpret its palette and review a proposal. Custom decorating images back up privately when you save a cloud revision, and reopen on other devices. Use Back up privately for an individual image. Pilot storage is limited to 50 cloud images and 35 MB per account; saved revisions prevent deleting images they use. Device copies can be removed separately. Download your images for an independent backup. Clearing site data removes local copies.

Open the decorated estate study for a ready-to-explore interpretation of the supplied Dark Timber palette, with rugs, plants, lamps and concept boards. Original source allocations remain available separately. PNG renders and 360° room panoramas include materials and visible boards. OBJ exports include simplified decor geometry; image textures, material maps and lighting are excluded. The WebGL walkthrough displays textures; its basic graphics fallback only shows room colors.

Make room details part of the concept.

In Room details, add timber ceiling beams, curtains beside modeled windows and a stone fireplace on a solid wall. The fireplace must fit and stay clear of openings, furniture, standing decor and art. These are concept objects, not a flue or construction specification. The decorated Great Room demonstrates the tools with proposed glazing, furniture, timber beams and a fireplace.

Use Copy selected room finishes to reuse the palette elsewhere. In AI decorating, describe a style and optionally choose a concept picture. Generate sends the selected resized picture and room brief to the existing AI pilot. Review material colors and patterns, choose whether to add the suggested furniture, then apply. The geometry stays unchanged, and Undo restores the prior design.

Start with the right workspace.

My workspace contains your private cloud projects, profile and five reusable starting layouts. ChatGPT manages sign-in. You can explore and edit locally before signing in; private cloud saving, profiles and AI drafting require sign-in.

Shape the plan.

  1. Select a room from the list or the 2D plan. Edit its name, dimensions, position, height and floor finish in Room properties.
  2. Open Edit & floor tools to duplicate rooms, align them, move them by a grid step, and add or duplicate floors.
  3. Turn Room drag on in those tools. Drag a room in 2D to move it on the grid. Drag empty space to pan. Use Undo and Redo to compare changes.
  4. Add doors and windows to a room wall. Proposed connecting doors work when room boundaries touch. Moving rooms can break a shared-wall connection.
  5. Add furniture manually or review suggestions. Suggested furniture avoids existing furniture and a small doorway buffer; inspect the result yourself.

Place objects directly.

Enable Move / resize objects below Furniture. Select an object in the 2D plan and drag it on the editing grid. Drag its marked corner to resize. Use Rotate 90°, Duplicate or Remove, or focus the canvas and press R, Ctrl / ⌘ D, Delete or arrow keys. Objects stay within their room; furniture and standing decor stay clear of the fireplace. Rugs can overlap furniture. Wall art uses the Decor & art form.

Explore what you changed.

Use 3D model for a cutaway overview, then Walkthrough to look and move inside rooms. Choose daylight, warm or neutral lighting. Fast view is the default; Detailed shadows adds room shadows. Natural field of view provides a narrower view than the default wide lens. The model includes floor patterns, baseboards and simple ceiling details.

Save a camera to revisit it against later edits. Cameras save in the project JSON and cloud revisions. The tour-view selector and Tour stop buttons connect saved views across floors; save them in your preferred order within each floor. If an edit puts furniture in a camera position, the viewer moves to an available position. Room jumps between floors do not model stairs. Download a normal model view or a 2:1, 2048 × 1024 panorama from one camera position. Open the panorama in a compatible panorama viewer. A panorama captures one room position; it does not create a linked tour or photo of an actual property.

Use an upload or AI draft.

Convert PDF reads labeled rectangles from vector drawings, then asks you to confirm their scale. The AI panel can draft a small layout from a brief, propose a selected-room edit, or make approximate rectangles from a plan image. It can miss or invent rooms. Review its preview before applying. The public pilot has five AI attempts shared across the pilot each UTC day, including failed attempts.

Keep your alternatives.

Edits autosave on your current device. Projects creates named private cloud revisions. Compare a revision with the workspace to see room, opening and furniture changes. The dashboard opens the latest saved revision. Download JSON for a portable backup. Decorating images and saved tour cameras reopen with the cloud revision. Temporary references attached through Attach plan, including PDFs, must be reattached after reopening.

Bring the concept to someone else.

Project review provides a printable presentation of your current geometry. SVG exports contain the selected floor, while OBJ exports contain its wall surfaces and furniture in feet. OBJ includes bounding geometry for beams, curtains and fireplaces; surface textures, lighting and picture files are excluded. Download the finish schedule CSV to compare materials by floor, room and surface. The Dark Timber showcase has ready-made downloads of the example study.

Share a saved design for review.

Open Projects, choose a project, then Share R… · client walkthrough. Create a link with a 1, 7 or 30 day expiry. Copy it when it appears; existing-link lists show the label and expiry without revealing the original secret URL. Anyone holding the link can see that fixed revision, its images and tour views. Reviewers sign in with ChatGPT to leave a public display name and a comment. Comments are limited to five per person per link per day and 100 per link. Revoke a link from the same panel to stop future access and remove its comments. Later changes need a new saved revision and link.
